The neatest thing about this fish is that I was demonstrating to another fisherman the combination of the rod, the DIY spool and the line in casting the relatively light bait. He was using spinning tackle and mono with a similar tube. I threw a long cast out and was describing the feel of the bait when it encountered what felt like a piece of wood. I told the guy that was how I was catching the fish as they tend to position themselves behind wood and rock waiting for something to wander by in the little bit of current in this particular hole. I popped the line to free the bait as I told him I tried to do that gingerly so the bait does not move too far from the rock or piece of wood. I no more than got the word "wood" out of my mouth as I felt the tap and set the hook on this one.

I accidentally played around with Seth Feiders new Tatulas at the show before his seminar and I am hopelessly addicted
Fishermen can be that way I guess...
But I am a upper Midwest, great lakes Smallie guy and a finesse "fast action" style guy...I guess Daiwa will start shipping these seriously after the Classic... I will NOT be a hard sell

The silver color is reminiscent of the original TD-X line of rods from the 90's (although those were cork handles). There were finesse rods, both spinning and casting, that were designed by guys like Mike Folkstad. Super light for their time.

Yep they kinda do remind me of the TDX rods, which I still have 2 of, except that in the Tatula Elite blank is actually kinda two tone. The section from the handle to the first guide is a slightly darker silver, it's really prominent under certain lighting conditions. I some of the 2017 Project T videos the lower section appears a lot darker but it is really not a lot darker in person.

Just saw the flipping rod with AGS on EBay for sale (seller wanted $800.00 or best offer) looks like the new reel seat is similar to the new Cronos rods and the Steez Racing Condition.

Wow $800! I can wait a few weeks and pay the MSRP of $299. But more power to him if he gets the $800. Heck I would just buy the Steez AGS for $599. I'm just waiting for the Classic so my new Tatula SV will ship.

Was not a fan of these when handled at a fishing show as I thought I would be. Blank was a total turn off guess my loss if they actually fish good but I will never know.

I wouldn't call it a low end blank..some of the new jdm steez rods are built on svf nano plus. I have one and its really nice.

I think by the blank being a turnoff was in reference to the color. I could be wrong though.
