New cranking rod needed

Post by down4ttown » Mon Jul 03, 2017 8:09 pm

Wanting to spend 200 or less on a larger stick for those 12-16 ft divers. Any suggestions on the best for the money and why?

Hi Down4ttown,

Sorry.. I am not trying to be rude/hijack your thread but I need a good heavy cranking rod as well for my Zillion SV TWS.

I have been buying great rods from G-Rods International after reading the review from Cal (Pro Bass Series).
it costs me a bomb just to ship to Malaysia and well...I am still a happy man.

Now I am looking at either: ( just a bit more than 200 )

G Rods International game changer 7'11"
https://g-rods.com/collections/bass/pro ... -711-hc-cr

or

St. Croix Legend Tournament Magnum cranker 7'10" ( which I need to wait for 3 months to get it ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) )
http://stcroixrods.com/products/freshwa ... ament-bass

has anyone used these crank-bait rods before ???

any inputs are much appreciated.

Regards,
WW

I am actually looking at getting one of the St Croix as well. It would be used for crankbaits, big spinnerbaits, and swimbaits. Paired with an older deep spool Shimano Antares.
My go to...
Shimano Antares 12 / 7' St Croix Legend Tournament Bass / Xcalibur XKR50 chrome/black

Let me know how do you like it???

I have decided to go for 7'11" game changer and looking forward to receiving this coming Tuesday \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I will be using Zillion SV TWS 1016 (5.5:1) or Ryoga 1016 with that stick.

I bought the same rod, but have yet to use it. Beautiful build, can't wait to see if it has enough power to handle those big deep divers, especially the lucky craft ones.

Hi Zodiak,

just tested 7'10" Pro Bass on last Friday while waiting for the game changer to come this week.
it is a very powerful rod and it works well with the Rapala 14 and Rapala 20 and of course I was using Zillion SV TWS (5.5:1).

my friend who had the same rod and he was using Steez A. He caught 5kg Giant Snakehead.

Regards,
WW
