Shimano Expride 6'10" Medium (2017)

Does anybody have any experience with this rod? I am considering buying one for top water (mostly 1/2 PopMax type baits) and some jerk baits.

I have that same rod, only in the Poison Adrena model. From what I've been told, the blanks are very similar in nature. What would you like to know?

Would it be a good rod for top water (3/8-5/8) and jerkbaits?

I think so. It's a multi talented blank, though 5/8 might be a bit much for it imo. I use mine for stuff between 1/8 and 3/8.

I have the older model in 6'6 medium and I use it for both jerkbaits and top waters. I have tossed all the way up to 3/4 which is a little on the heavy side but no issues. I always have it on the deck and think you will really like it for those techniques!

The new Exprides are labeled as having more Americanized tapers vs the jdm tapers of the ones being replaced. I haven't handled one of the new Exprides but I'd bet the tapers are more in line with the usdm Zodias rods.
