Does anyone has experience with this rod? I am considering getting it for throwing 1/2 topwaters and jerkbaits. What are your thoughts?

It should handle them fine. It's a good rod, nice slow action but still a good amount of backbone. I use mine for all cranking needs since I don't do much cranking beyond squarebills.

I have one, it's perfect for those baits, plus 1.5 squarebills

I did get one of these and I am in the process of seeing how I like it. The guides are really small (true micros) and don't seem to like a knot tied from 30lb braid to a 15 lb mono leader.

That is exactly what I use mine for. It also gets some work as a squarebill rod, underspin rod, small swimbaits on jigheads etc.

looking at looking right now..

I broke mine need to get started on warranty I really liked it for top water and it will handle the lighter stuff as well like Rico poppers I also used it for jerkbaits in a pinch and it did well there also

I'm not too sure on that. I've never fished a deep throat custom.
