6.9 ft or 7 ft for top water?

I have used both and there are advantages to each. Longer casting distance with 7 ft rod and easier to work baits with the shorter 6.9. Which do find works best for you?

6'3 and 6'6 my norms but at times I will go up to 7'6 when topwater fishing in heavy cover with big bass around. 7 is fine too just not something I often do.

Also depends on how you use the rod. If you have a boat (other elevated platform) a longer rod might work for walking the dog style applications. If you are a bank angler like me, shorter might be better.

I like the short rods for targeting shore or grass lines and casting at objects for accuracy. For open water the longer rods for distance.
