Megabass Orochi micro guides and knots

Post by Rodster14 » Sun Aug 20, 2017 3:09 am

When throwing braid with a leader, will a knot pass through these without a problem?

I've been using the FG knot and it casts through the guides fine. I'm sure it slows the cast down just a bit but it's not noticeable. I do this on my Diablo Spec R with 40lb Samurai and a 12 or 14 lb fluoro leader.

I've used leaders on them with no problems at all. FG knot here too.

I believe the smallest guides are likely a size 5.5. Perfect size imo, not too big, not too small (mid micro).

fg knot here as well. you will only notice it sometimes when you reel in, don't notice it in the cast.

Just popped the 4th guide loose on an Orochi XX Extreme Mission, running #30 Daiwa J-Braid FG knot to #14-17 leader. Put the guide back into the wrap and didn't have an issue with it the rest of the day. The rod is about 2 years old, if it happen again I will be sending it back to MB to be fix. They are great at resolving issues.
