Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
Hey guys i really need some hands on info on either one of these rods.
I am looking for a Megabass Swimbait Rod to handle 8 and 10 inch Hudds
Deps 250 megabass I slides 262 and other Baits in the 5-10 oz range.
I was looking into the black jungle FZ 80 but that one i have been told is too
much and more of a musky rod. I also found a picture of an italian forum where it
lifts 4 deps 250 at the same time and it hardly bends at all.
So therefore i was looking for something lighter.
Megabass Destroyer TS-78x+ ( king of Barracat )
http://www.megabass.co.jp/site/products/ts78x-plus/
Megabass Destroyer TS-79x (hunting weapon)
http://www.megabass.co.jp/site/products/ts79x/
If anyone has any hands on experience on one if them it
would be great to hear from ya.
Thanks a million in advance

Re: Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
I have the original TS-78x and those baits are all right in the zone for it. I will say that I find it a bit much for lures down at the 4oz end of its suggested range. It will cast the smaller ones just fine but feels overpowered working them especially Glide baits as they don’t have much water resistance.
I would think that the TS-78x+ would be the better of your two options listed but it still looks like a lot of rod. It looks like the rear grip is a bit longer that the original TS-78 which would be nice.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
Thx for your thoughts and shared experience Farnorth.
I forgot to mention i used to own the MB SRD rated 8 oz and i didn‘t dare going above 6 oz.
I really did not like its short handle so therefor i let it go and am now looking for something with a longer handle snd more beef.
I also condider the black jungle F11-710 ORGE which has been recommended by a fellow board member.
If anyone owns that rod pls feel free to share you opinion about it.
Thank you guys so much

Re: Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
I used to have the SRD also and while a nice stick it topped out at 5-6 oz imo. The TS rods are very different, much heavier duty. The original TS-78 does share that same short handle though so obviously not what you are after.
Re: Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
If you really want to drop money get a Destroyer Black Jungle. Best rod i own in my arsenal. Handles alot of baits with ease
Re: Need help for a megabass swimbait rod
I had the original TS Destroyer Baccarat and that was great for dep's 250 but if you're going to go a little bit higher in weight/profile I also hear Ogres are awesome
