You might get more responses in the custom rods section. In short the rod blank itself does not know whether it is a spinning or casting rod. I have built several BFS casting rods on light/ultra-light spinning rod blanks. If you like the blank try it.

Hope it turns out well. Let us know how you like it. Personally I probably would not go with torzite, just because of cost. You can get performance close to torzite at a fraction of the cost. If your wallet will bear it more power to you.

You read my mind. I got a 7' medium power fast action Techna AV that I wanted to turn into a BFS rod. Let us know how it turns out.
