How do you prefer to clean your rods and guides, any special cleaner that works well?

I use soapy water on the blank and guides, and mr clean magic eraser on the cork. I try to stay away from any harsh solvents that may deteriorate the adhesive or resins.

x2 on the magic eraser for cork. I bought some U-40 over the winter, and the magic eraser made all of my cork look brand new before I sealed it.

Blank and guides:

Soap and water. Simple Green or Formula 409 for stubborn stuff.

Finish it off with a coat of carnuba wax.

I use rod wrap. I'll fish straight cork when I find a way to clean it without the cork filler coming out and making my handles look old and dehydrated. U40 seals it, but changes the appearance and feel. I scotch-guarded my expensive leather bomber in the 90's and regretted it.

I clean the guide inserts with a q tip and alcohol. The blank gets plexus and a nice soft cloth to clean
And polish.
