Torzite noise
Torzite noise
My St.Croix 7MHF LE has torture guides and it is noisy with mono. That normal? Couldn't find any cracks in the guides or frays in my line.
Re: Torzite noise
Not sure whether it's normal with mono, but with braid it's certainly louder than with lesser guides. I think the added sensitivity of the torzites, the way they definitely seem to transfer feel to the blank, probably means they're going to be louder inevitably.
Re: Torzite noise
Yes. Small, lightweight titanium guides and "crispy" high modulus blank makes noise.
Think it's like a sportcar. Noise comes with performance!

Haha! Word guys!
Re: Torzite noise
Possibility of dirty line, impacted grit or whatever on the line or gunk buildup of rings Not as likely in the case of mono IMHO. Like it has been stated with technology for guides and blanks I think you're going to feel and hear a lot more things then we as Anglers were accustomed with braid, as I fish about half of my rigs with braid or some braid/top shot combo I simply have gotten used to line being noisy.
Re: Torzite noise
The rod is new, line is new. I notice the noise mostly when my line is in. If I hold the rod at say a 70 degree angle, let the bait dangle, then play with the line it's pretty loud.

Re: Torzite noise
Trim off a couple feet of line and see if it changes or goes away.
Re: Torzite noise
It did the same thing with defier and trilene xl so it wasn't that the line was chewed up
