Looking at putting together the ultimate DS setup. Price is not an issue. Please give me your choices for rod and reel. Does not matter if spinning or Bait casting. Just looking for the best set up possible.

Best is subjective and not everyone has tried all brands and models. It has been nothing but pure pleasure to fish my two DS rods though. I wouldn't trade these two rods for any at the moment. Even if better ones came out I would keep these and just buy the better rod for my 3rd.

Megabass F2.5-611X7 Power House - For pure open water fishing. I have a MB RC Idaten on it but I'm sure an Exist would out perform it. I run 22lb YGK main line to 8lb sniper leader. These YGK lines are so damn smooth it makes the setup even better. Note the X8 braided lines are better. Their "sinking" line is rougher and makes some crazy weird noise on fish.

Megabass F3.5-610X7 Simoom - I use this for fishing weedlines or pockets. Has the power to pull them and yank off weeds but still has a tip to work that DS. This rod has some serious reserve power IMO. I pair this up with a Stella FI with YGK main line also but run 12lb sniper leader. This setup has caught me the most if of all my setups.

Now going to find me same pair for backups this winter. \:D/

Here are my 2 favorites:

1. '15 Daiwa Exist 1025 on a 1st Generation Edge Black Widow 6100DS (HM blank)
2. '17 Shimano Conquest BFS HG on an Edge Black Widow BWC711-1DSR (HM blank)

Factory, I've been using my Evergreen TKDC-66ML-Spiral the past couple of years. Pair it with an SX Morrum and it's been money.
Same reel on a custom PB661L cut down to 6' has been fun as well.

Love my Megabass hedgehog evoluzion. I have a Daiwa theory mounted to it but I’ll be upgrading soon. Perhaps a new Exist

Lots of different choices. Just as I Expected. I do have a Stella FJ to pair it with when I finally choose a rod.
