The rod is definitely on the medium side of medium-light and the backbone is pretty strong, likely more power than you need, especially with live bait. It is extra fast and hits that solid backbone quickly. It is sweet for a 1/4 oz bitsy bug jig and plastic trailer.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
