Conquest 905C Question
Re: Conquest 905C Question
Got the 905c in Friday. Paired it with the Shimano Bantam MGL XG, 50 lbs powerpro braid. Broke it in using smaller 3/8 oz pegged d bomb rigs on bed fish. Rod is very sensitive in my hands. No worry there. Lots of power, but nice tip. 3/8 oz rig was not difficult to pitch. Largest fish went 6.28 lbs. love the way the rod loaded up on a good fish while maintaining tons of power. I am very, very happy so far. Crazy light rod in hand for an extra heavy.
Re: Conquest 905C Question
Doing some research, and hoping a few of the original posters will see this. I have a Conquest 844 that really like for 3/8 - 1/2 oz jigs. Have been considering either a CNQ 904 or 905, and came across this post. I'm worried that the 904 will just be longer 844, and I'd like to have more power for heavy cover. I've read some say that 905 is too stiff for 1/2 oz jig, but it seems a few of you guys like it for that. I don't mind a stiffer jig rod. Just looking for some real-world experiences.
