Orochi XXX Mat Bucker

Post by RMCatchNrelease » Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:02 am

Does anyone have this rod?

Curious about the power and the tip.

It says light frog game, but seems to be rated fairly heavy at max 3oz. Also says it has a light tip for roll casting

So...

How much backbone does if have? Would you say it is a standard heavy or does it have a bit more power reserves? May reference is Daiwa Zillion 7'H

How light is the tip? Can you wrist flick a standard frog?

My current setups don't have a soft tip. I am used to it, but fished a friends custom NFC rod and it had the softest tip and you could just flick a frog and be very accurate. Problem is, I think that blank is 7'4" or more. I prefer a shorter rod for twitching and keeping out of the water.

Thank you!

You might have to pick it up and give it a shot. I just ordered a XXX Destruction 70 specifically to test and determine if it’s the frog rod for me. I almost ordered the mat bucker type L. If you pick one up give us some feedback on it if you would.

Going to call The Trap and see if they can give me more insight.

That said, I'll probably end up with it. Review will be up if I do.
