Can anyone tell me how the 7'2" H Expride compares to the 7'2" H Zodias? Or does anyone have a recommendation for a 3/8-1/2 oz jig rod for $200 or less?
Shimano did a really good job keeping the powers uniform across there rods, so exactly the same power, but it's going to be a big jump in weight and a loss in sensitivity.

check out the MB FMJ for 1/2oz jigs. a little bit of overkill for the cover you describe but feels as nimble in hand as a lot of MH rods. well balanced IMO. jig plastic rods are what id recommend spending the most on. id recommend a NRX used or on sale (expeditor service still works if not original buyer) but the longer/heavier powered ones are a bit too unbalanced for tip up fishing in my opinion. you can add weight to counter.

So, kind of doing a 180 here and starting to lean towards either an IMX/GLX 894 or a St Croix Legand Tournament/Elite strictly because of their warranties. I have a 9 yo and a pretty smalll boat and I like the idea of if anything happens I have the warranty to fall back on and not have it ruin our time together if an accident does happen. The IMX and Tournaments are more in my price

At the present time I’m loving this poison adrena
Like it’s my favorite rod right
Paired with the old Antares and 12lb floro
The sensitivity is a m a z i n g

Since I’ve got this rod I have picked it up every chance I get.
Throwing flukes on it.

I just recently picked up a Kistler Helium 3 7'3" Heavy for jigs. This is by far my new favorite rod and I find the sensitivity to be phenominal. Compared to my XX it's a good step up. With the 15% off you can get A helium 3 for just over 200$. At that price IMO it simply can't be beat.

Agreed and I’m an advocate for the H3 heavy without a doubt
I was simply throwing out another option
