Just wondering if these are the same blank. I've seen TacticalBassin rave about the 742sf HP, but never mention the casting model. Also if you have the 742c, what do you throw on it? First post, thanks TT

They are different from my experience. The 742c fishes about a power heavier than the 742sf in my hands.

Interesting. I understand the spinning has a full-cork handle, so it probably balances better. I feel like my 742c may be a little tip-heavy which is unusual because of Dobyns well-known balance. What do you throw on the spinning compared to the casting?

I threw the same techniques on both rods. I usually used the 742c when I was fishing more cover or heavier weights and the 742sf when I was in more open water or using lighter weights.

I agree that the casting model is slightly more powerful...I would say about half a power more. It's hard to tell though because of the nature of casting vs spinning.
