He probably has a certain reel spool size, that he intends to use with the rod.

Bigger spool larger stripper guide/smaller spool smaller stripper guide?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:16 pmHe probably has a certain reel spool size, that he intends to use with the rod.
I personally have never noticed a difference, but most my spinning reels are 2500 size.
Re: New Poison Adrena
Because, when I got replacements from “the best rods on the Earth” they downgraded strippers from size 25 to 20, I immediately noticed ~15ft Casting distance shortage.
My reels are Daiwa 3000 spool dia 54mm for MH and 2500 spool dia 49mm for Medium power rod, rule of thump - that guide gotta be minimum half of spool outer dia.

Re: New Poison Adrena
got the 7'4 hvy today and took it for a little spin. honestly just seems like a good all rounder for versatility i can tell when the rod is loaded up it has a good parabolic powerful action but its not just a crank rod. i feel if you like more moderate rod you could throw some bottom contact on it like football jigs and the like. i threw a skinny dipper with a owner flash hook and did well. and threw a super spook and really liked it for that. might even be a good chatterbait rod if you have thick grass in the equation. overall just a great rod that will do many things well i feel . with a bantam mounted on it the rod balances 3/4 of an inch above the locking nut. i wouldn't say the rod is tip heavy but out of this line up it is the most tip hvy.
handle label says , Fast moving/ Big bait.

Thanks for the initial review brother, how would it be for 1/2- 1 oz dark sleepers, Megabass Vatalion, ganteral etc .? What would be you’re opinion on the biggest swimbait this stick could handle ? I’m looking for a light swimbait stick...

honestly i would think in its 2 oz rating for swimbaits. I think it will be a better treble hook swimbait rod for the smaller wake baits and the 6' mag draft non freestyle. I think it would be fine for the dark sleepers as well it has the low end power that i wouldn't worry about not getting a good hook set. deps 145 and those in between smaller glidebaits will be perfect as well as 1/2 oz lead head keitech stuff open hook. the smaller vatallian would be great . im not sure about the bigger one or the gantrel though to be honest. deps buzzjet and those bigger topwaters this will be money. ill fish some dark sleepers and jigs tomorrow and see how the sensitivity stacks up as well as push the weight limits and get back to you on what i think the rod will do as in throwing a weight that maxes it out.

Gotcha ... good to know because I thought it might just be a longer version of the 7’2 but it looks like it has beefed up a tad. Is the blank much thicker than the 7’2 heavy?

Re: New Poison Adrena
Received Adrena 7’2 h last week and had it out over the weekend. I put a zillion sv tw on it with 15lb tatsu. I was fishing in 10 fow with mostly old dead weeds with lots of stumps and a few rocks mixed in, 3/16 tungsten and a brush hog. Rod felt like I was pulling threw mush. I was very surprised by this from all the reviews on the rod and how sensitive it is suppose to be. I switched rods with my brother who had a loomis gl2 a rod I never fished before with braid to flouro leader and i could feel lots of stumps and rocks. I respooled with Maxquattro to 15 lb tatsu but we were in a different area and I didn’t get to test it much. My initial impressions are the rod is beautiful, light and balanced but is not nearly as sensitive as I had hoped. I may have been bit by the hype bug. Will give it another go this weekend with the braid to leader and if my impression doesn’t change out the door it goes.

Well, I haven't had the chance to fish mine yet but I sure hope it doesn't feel like mush when I take it out.poot04 wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 9:10 amReceived Adrena 7’2 h last week and had it out over the weekend.
