Not much mention on guides in this thread so far.
Was just curious about their size and if anyone is using braid to leader on the casting rods.
I’ve been fishing the 6’11 M+ with 30 and 40lb braid to a 14lb mono leader via Alberto knot. No issues.

Quick update, entire monocoque handle has some coating, both matte and shiny parts. The coating started to delaminate on my stick in two spots. It is my most heavily used rod, but still...

I think I will stick with cork or eva from now on.

this almost reminds me of the t-wing grooving issue a while back. the question is, is this an outlier or will it slowly become the norm :-k

would u say u're the type that's careful with ur equip by babying it or pretty rough in general? i have my thoughts but would rather hear from the horse's mouth

I am rough on all my gear, but that does not make it ok. I have heavily used $50 aird x with cheap eva that barely shows signs of wear beyond dirt.
The butt section on adrena is beyond cosmetics as it gives grip. I am very dissapointed to find out it is coating, rather than change in texture of handle material.

I really wanted to like the PA rods but sold mine. The handles feel cheap and very fragile. My locking nut also would not stay tight. Id go with expride if Shimano is your choice. Sweet sticks though just not for me.

That's not a good look on Shimano. Quite literally :(

I really like(d) this stick but if I knew my handle would be delaminating from 'my' normal use I would not get it. I was under the impression that "carbon handle" would be more resitant than cork or eva foam, wrong I was. Too bad I bought it on ebay, otherwise I would start a warranty claim as it is less than 1 year old.

Was it a auction or from a legit seller? I bought one from sheltons outdoors on ebay and got the warranty on a red cumara

Legit seller based in ga, I emailed them and awaiting response. Did you go through the seller or directly to shimano?

I am thinking about getting a 7.2 Medium for throwing 1/2-5/8 walking baits? Any thoughts?

Imo you would be better off with the 7'2" heavy for those weights
