Oof this is a semi expensive rod, and these things are happening? If i had this happen to me, i would claim warranty and sell it. The last time i saw the clear bubbling, it was on a $45 Fenwick from over 10 years ago. That is not okay.

Saw the paint flaking on the carbon monocoque and the clear bubbling/flaking, and all on the same rod line up. A rod with these kind of issues should have a minimum of 10 years warranty.

Yea I never got around to claim the warranty on mine. I still use mine all the time and the progression of bubbling and coating delamination is slow but steady.
I don’t mind when rods show heavy use ie. dirty cork, worn Eva etc. but this is different and every time I look at it annoys the f*** out of me.
IMO, this a product of poor QA after the surface prep before coating. Is looks like the deamination is mostly isolated.

I agree it looks like poor QA.

I have til October to get it to Shimano. The rod still fishes the same so I may use it a couple more months to get me through the summer.

Hopefully Shimano will do the right thing and replace it. All of my other PA's still look new. And some are much older than the 7'2"M that is bubbling.

As far is as getting rid of it, I will give Shimano the chance to do what's right. If I discarded all of my non-perfect fishing gear, I wouldn't have anything left.

Really unfortunate to hear about the bubbling issues. Has this been reported on the PG or PU lines?

Rodster14 or other 7'2H owner - after reading through many pages of this thread I feel I will be disappointed in the 7'2 H Adrena that will be delivered to me tomorrow. I was intending to use this rod for pitching 1/2 oz & 3/4 oz texas rigs in @ 7-9 ft of fairly dense milfoil weed. It will be my first Adrena, and with the fast action rating I didn't expect talk of soft tips. I was hoping for a lighter grass pitching rod so maybe anticipated the good of taking a break from the broomstick, but just don't know if it'll be not enough rod throughout for that reaction strike bite in the weeds, where you're needing to move that fish fairly quickly before it can get you into trouble in those denser weeds. Also I prefer straight 15# FC, but could go braid to leader if the guides aren't too small for a double uni connector knot. Any thoughts?

You can try and it and see, but I suspect it will not be enough power for what you are wanting to do. I was using it as a jig rod and ended up getting an NRX+ instead. I no longer have the 7’2 H., but still have a 7’3 MH, 6’11 M+ , 7’4 H and. 6’7 ML spinning. The 7’2 H will fish closer to a MH in my opinion. It is a great multipurpose rod.

So I went ahead and sent in my 7'2"M that had the bubbling.

Shimano sent me an email within a week of receiving the rod saying it will be replaced under warranty.

No timetable yet as to when I receive the new rod, but good to know Shimano is replacing the rod.

Can you guys that have had and still have the PA’s give a breakdown on what you mainly use them for?
Like I’ve read 7’2 heavy for 3/8th and 1/2 oz jackhammers?
I would like to buy 2 or 3 to try the slower actions. But I’d like to have a idea on what to expect before buying a rod then figure out what it’s good at. Know what I’m mean?
Thank you guys

Here's mine:

6'11"M+ - Skipping anything 3/8 oz. and lighter. My favorite is the 3/8 oz stealth blade jackhammer. 1/4 oz. jigs, etc.

7'2"M - Wacky Senkos, light cranks, other light-ish T-rigs. Some jerk baits. It's a super sensitive M action rod.

7'2"H - 1/2 -3/4 oz. flipping/pitching. Larger cranks (prefer it over the 7'4"H). Bottom dragging heavier jigs.

7'3"MH - The most versatile rod in the series and my favorite of the entire line. So many different techniques from paddle tail flukes to flipping, to drop shot, to topwater. This rod can handle moving baits and bottom contact. It's truly an impressive action.

7'4"H - The stoutest rod of the bunch. Some say it's a deep cranker but I find the action to be very stiff/fast and mainly use it with heavy braid to flip/punch and throw frogs.

The Adrena in that price is not far from NRX sensitivity. Anything coming from a dobyns sensitivity wise is a upgrade . In the 300-400 range, the Adrena is where it’s at

For the price the adreana’s are nothing special to me. I had 2 from gen 1 and 1 from gen 2 and sold all 3. I like my expride better. I feel like people up talk them because it’s a Jdm rod but there are better options out there. Just got to look and try

Has anyone tried the PAD2610ULMA?

6'10" Ultra light/Medium spinning rod?
