Re: New Poison Adrena
any got the 2020 6'10 Medium Glass think it's okay to throw 3/8oz to 1/2oz chatterbaits on it? 3/8oz jackhammer with zman rzshad comes to .7oz. rod has ratings of 1/8 to 1oz...

Re: New Poison Adrena
i have the 6'10 med glass and i know everyone is different in rod powers for their preferred techniques but i personally wouldnt use it for that. for me its a good smaller square bill/ med crank rod. 1.5 square bills, rapala dt6, spro rock crawler 50/55 are great baits in its wheel house. This being said the tip is soft but it does pack some backbone to it so if you were in open water with light cover i could see throwing a 3/8 oz chatterbait on it. For what you listed i would look at the 7'3 model personally.
I have the the 7'2 medium regular taper showing up tomorrow ill give a small impression write up when i fish it. Ben at the hook up tackle made some videos of the taper on the poison adrenas and sent to me which helped out a lot on blindly ordering the rod. The 7'2 having a regular taper is not a whippy crankbait rod taper but still can load deeper into the blank. The 7'4 had a cool taper with some tip to it but plenty of backbone. I was first under the impression this would be a heavy flipping stick rod but it was thought of for smaller swimbaits and large topwater walking baits/ wake baits.

Re: New Poison Adrena
alright got to play with the 7'2 medium regualar taper casting rod some. I paired it with a scorpion 70 ( thanks real pudd legend for the reel!!) Anyway first impressions are really good on this rod its super versatile for sure. On paper i was afraid it was just going to be a crankbait rod but upon fishing it some it literally can do so much more. This is not a noodle stick it has a strong parabolic bend in the rod and great power progressing through the blank. If you are looking for a medium do a bunch of stuff rod or fishing from the bank and need to bring only a few rods definitely recommend this one. The best way for me to describe this rod would be similar to the megabass destroyer javelin in a shorter model with just a tad less power in the blank. great small topwater walking bait rod, smaller keitech on a jig head, and silver buddy/ underspins will more than likely rock on this rod. I wouldn't be afraid to throw soft plastics either if you don't like using spinning for wacky senkos this would be a good fit

No problem brother glad you like the reel!
Thanks for the great info on the rod, I think I’ll have to grab one.

Re: New Poison Adrena
For those that have the 7’2 heavy - does it comfortably throw the upper end (1.5oz)? I’m looking at purchasing one but want to know if it could handle Megabass 6” mag draft and mag draft freestyle (about 1.25-1.5oz).

Re: New Poison Adrena
honestly jerkbait 22 the rod will throw them but it would not be my number 1 choice for the free style rig. I throw it quite a bit and i use to throw it on a expride 7'2 hvy which is more stout than the adrena in my hands and i had to move to a more beefy stick. Especially if you look at the owner beast hook and how thick it is you will def step up the rod for hook penetration. i would for sure throw the non freestyle 6 inch on it with the thin treble at the bottom but not the freestyle.
