I was thinking about the 6'7" ML/MF to replace my current 6'6" M/F spinning combo. I'm not too sure about the mod. fast action though. Will this be a good rod for spooks and walk the dog type baits?

6-7 model is a good finesse rod but probably too light for spooks. 6-11 MH spinner would be a good one for that. I have one if your interested. To me it feels like a light MH or a Medium plus in power.

What size of stripper guide it has?

I would think so. Its rated up to 3/4 oz. I just put a tape on the largest guide and it was 1" in dia.

In regard to the 7'2 H being "mushy" it could be because the rod has no tip. Tested it in the store, I would have thought it was soft if they rated it MH.

I was starting to think about this model for frogging milfoil beds. Sounds like that would be a bad choice?

It wouldn’t be a good choice

It definitely doesn't feel like a heavy. Goldrod, did you say you liked it for Texas rig? I'm thinking I'll use it for that.

I got the 72M in, everything I expected. Perfect Duo/MB 110 - 120 rod, and throws a lighter Flash Pointer 95 with aplomb. Will be fishing some 1/4oz heads and finesse swimbaits on it soon...light, crisp, balanced with a Zillion SV TW.

As for the spinning models...WTH is Shimano thinking. Where's my 7 - 7'2 ML - M?? What's the 6'11MH spinner for?

Well I gave the rod a fair shot. While the 7’2h is one of the nicest feeling rods in hand, it just wasn’t going to work for me. So I sold it and have an evergreen tkic egoist on its way to the U.S.A

I would say 1/8 to 3/4 is the lower and upper range.

It's a power finesse rod. In short it's what they define as using straight #1-#2PE with most sticking to #1.5PE fishing the small rubber jigs, neko rigs, etc. in heavy cover like overhanging brush, laydowns, reeds and such. They get pretty aggressive with pulling bass out of the cover in conjunction with boat/bank flipping the fish.

If you want to watch and learn more about what they do and define as power finesse you'll have to type パワーフィネス into google to get you the correct results.
