8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Nice catch! I went ahead and ordered the Conquest 400 from Digitaka. I got it yesterday. Fast shipping and very nice reel.
I also ordered the Tulala Monstruo 710 from Lure & Boats Boat Backlash. They send me an email saying shipping would be extra on the oversized road. That was last week. I’m still waiting for their follow up email. Hopefully they are a reputable company.

Hello Aqua...Aquaftm45 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 2:21 pmI wouldnt suggest a rod with a bunch of anodized aluminum bits and pieces if your fishing saltwater. Both of those rods have as much style as they do substance. Think more Mike Tyson, less Hector Macho Camacho...Both great fighters, two different approaches. I assume you will be using a decent size leader, probobly #40-#60 or more. If your running a long leader, your going to need a top guide of at least 6mm if not 8mm.
This a rod built for magnum sized Seabass (Snook Cousin), pretty cool with the spriral wrap guides. Zenaq will ship directly to the consumer in the US. This is a little on the lighter end of the lure rating

This is Individual Developments (Studio Composite) newest rod and checks all the boxes. Very limited release, but they are available. (It's mandatory that you buy a big Studio Composite handle to put on you Calcutta if you get this rod)
(link is for reference only, I know where a couple are available)

a little bit about the brand..(it does not show current models)

Again, a little lighter on the lure rating than 4oz, but should be good for bottom contact baits. This has a bit more style, but it is designed for saltwater. Conquest would look dope on this rod.

Lastly, something a bit more budget friendly and built like tanks. A couple of options:

Good luck!
The order for the Monstruo 710 from Lure & Boats Backlash fell through. I don’t think they have it stock. You mentioned you may have a few contacts?
Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
I'd be looking at the st croix musky rods , that's what a lot of guys use for throwing flairhawks and swimbaits for snook down here in Florida. I use a Vexan Inshore 8'6 1-4 oz spinning rod , with a Spheros sw 6000.
Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Hello johnD
How is the action on the Musky rod different than their swimbait rod?
Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Actions are about they same. The musky rod will have more power.
Legend Tournament Musky LM86MHF Long Ranger is the ones they use. You can get a similar blank in the Mojo musky line up.
Before I bought the 8'6 vexan , I fished a St croix Avid 8' heavy inshore. It is a great rod , snook , reds , tarpon around inlets.

Hey Rev, I'll send you a PM later today, might have to go the snipe route if you really want that rod. Bad news about Backlash, they have a rod that I want to buy too. They are a legit brick and mortor, but seem not to want to go out of thier way to ship rods to the US.Reverendo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 6:45 pmHello Aqua...Aquaftm45 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 2:21 pmI wouldnt suggest a rod with a bunch of anodized aluminum bits and pieces if your fishing saltwater. That would be great. Thanks. Yea L&B backlash just returned my money. No email. No explanation. Nada. I also send a few emails to a few places that has them about shipping FedEx or DHL. Let's see if they have the same trouble reading English, as I do Japanese. We'll see.
