Shimano Expride 172H-FR Question

Earlier this year I picked up a first generation Expride 172H-FR (7'-2") from a local sportsman show and want to know if anyone is familiar with this specific rod. It actually has FROG labeled on the blank. I like the rod, and clearly they were trying to clear out leftover first gen rods as I got it for $100...

Is this the same rod as the current production 172H? Also, is the current model 172H the same action as the 176H (7'-6")?
