flick shake rod

Post by spencerinstl » Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:09 pm

Broke my Megabass X4 HYENA Yuki Ito Special spinning rod today. What should I get for a new flick shake rod.
Doesn't have to be Megabass. Does have to be a spinning rod.
Thanks for the epiphany captain obvious

I'm not sure where Matt scrounged these up from, but they are a rare find that will not last long. There is the 7'4 and 6'10 available.

Gloomis Conquest 7' medium! This rods has tge best tip for really twitching and finessing baits for your desired action, especially with a flick shake. The 7' spinning model is a sniper rifle and is perfect for getting your bait where you want with ease, side arm, skip, pitch. You'll love it for more than flick shakes.

That is expensive though.

For a more affordable and still high-end spinning rod for flicks, the 13 envy 2 6'10" medium light spinning rod will fish weightless & weighted plastics better than a majority of rods that are above its price!

Definitely a rod I'd like to own some day. It depends on what weights your throwing. I toss 1/16, 3/16, and 1/8 oz wacky heads with relatively small worms. My favorite rod for this is undoubtedly the Phenix K2 683ml. Unfortunately it's a casting rod, but I'd imagine the 7'1 medium light spinning rod would work just fine for those weights. I've owned quite a few rods dedicated to this technique. From customs built on high end blanks to mass produced - mostly JDM. The K2 offers the best slack line sensitivity I've experienced, and the taper is spot on.

That's supposed to say 3/32, not 3/16.
