Also personally, I think that this monocoque handle is not going to do anything. I have never held my rod at the end like that, ever.

I handled the a current generation casting rod yesterday in the store though, and was very impressed. I love the look of the rods, and the build quality seems on par with the Expride. Definitely more tip heavy vs the Expride though, but I prefer EVA over cork.

You don't have to have your hand on the lower grip to experience the sensation and feedback that the full monocoque grip provides. The liveliness travels throughout the entire rod, unlike a blank that has been dampened with cork or eva. I'm not saying it's an out of the world kinda deal, but it does make a difference.

Monocoque type handles have been used before (Shimano SpeedMaster/BeastMaster) more than 30 years ago with success. They act like a bell to amplify vibrations that spread to the whole blank.

I guess I did not understand how the monocoque handle works. They look filthy in my opinion, I will def be getting one when they come stateside.

They're available here in Aus, however have seen 5 available for sale in second hand sites and stores already.

They look good, but seemed to have aged very quickly in their finish.

I have a the 6'9" ML spinning rod, and have been fishing it for a few weeks. It's very sensitive, nice guides, extremely comfortable grip, and a nice taper. One thing is it seems very under rated in line and lure ratings. It seems more like a 6-12lb line rod, not a 4-8lb rod. It's just a hair lighter than my medium Tatula spinning rod. I have it rigged with 10lb braid to 10lb fluoro, and it seems like the perfect match. Excellent 1/8-1/4oz shaky head rod. The rear grip does enhance the sensitivity, bites resonate in the whole handle, it's an interesting feeling. Nice rod, but I wouldn't fish 4lb line on it, it's more between a ML and a M with a pretty stiff tip.
