2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip
Re: 2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip
Looks so much better than the original. But i wish they removed this ugly as hell red accent. Look real BassProShop special.

These Zodias 2.0 look great. I don’t think the carbon monocoque butt will do anything in terms of added sensitivity. I mean let’s be serious here. Does anybody actually hold the butt of the rod when fishing? I’m pretty sure more than 90% of anglers wrap their hands around the reel. I would expect a little weight reduction at best. Nonetheless I do hope they make it stateside sooner than later as they are my favorite rods in terms of value.

Good to see that they've finally used the K guides. Hope they're the frosted guides as the high polished stainless rusted in the salt like the Terez's.
Also does anyone know if they've updated the handle and the issue of the wind down hood - few issues where it would separate from the threaded reel foot hood.

I think it's more to do with added vibration and less dampening from cork or foam. Vibrations should reverberate through the blank a little better, in theory anyway. Otherwise yeah, it's just a weight reduction, which is supposed to help sensitivity as well.MaxZmus wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 10:22 pmThese Zodias 2.0 look great. That's correct. You can feel additional reverb throughout the handle. It definitely increases transmissions. Quite a bit actuallybwjay wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:50 amI think it's more to do with added vibration and less dampening from cork or foam. Well I sure hope so. I always like to keep my expectations low and be blown away rather than having high expectations and be disappointed.

My obligatory comment /translation on the subject matter "one thingie"........ must be French

Meant to say "one thingie"
Re: 2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip
Guess I have to go it this way.... c@ck?? Now the joke is gone dang
Re: 2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip
They advertise this to have 30% more sensitivity while work a lure due to the carbon monocoque butt... who the hell holds onto the butt of a rod when working a lure? Call me when they due away with the old EVA grip and have full carbon monocoque. Also really lame actions.
Re: 2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip
monocoque grip is def a difference-maker for them. i guess shimano went the route of targeting the handle for better vibration transmission whereas daiwa targeted the guides with ags. what if daimano created a baby with monocoque handle and ags guides?!?!?! did I just offend the entire community by marrying the hatfields and mccoys???

Not sure about the way others hold a rod, but I often hold it with my forearm touching the blank between split grips. Bites are electric all the way up the arm and literally feels like someone punched me in the shoulder when using my split Conquests. I can see this increasing sensitivity for sure.

I definitely will try one of these rods. Shimano is really climbing the ladder of rods for me and my arsenal.
