Here in Canada in my part of the country walleye and smallies are the main species guys fish for.Half of the hardcore walleye anglers I come across have spinning reels mostly a shimano and mostly a stradic ci4 on a st croix rod. It's like a cult.I'm an outcast with my baitcasters on NRXs fishing jigs and easy shiners for river walleye.

I just got an email from SC talking about a new Legend Xtreme, their "most sensitive rod ever engineered". Will be debuted at the Bassmaster Classic in March. Based on the small sample pictures it looks like the handle is still ugly. Would definitely prefer a classy cork handle. We'll see more details in the coming weeks.

Agree, love the xtreme and the elite but handles are not the most comfortable.

I'm looking forward to checking these out myself. If any of you guys will be at the Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham, The Tackle Trap has a booth directly across from St. Croix and adjacent to Daiwa this year and all models of the new Legend Xtreme will be on display and available for sale. They will go live on the TT website as soon as St. Croix give us the green light!

I hope the new handle design looks like the new Tesla truck.

The price is a real turnoff. I gotta see specs but I’m walking away from these it seems

Looks like they will be using AGS guides on the new Xtremes.

I wonder why they chose that guide?

From what I have heard is they can break easy and are hard to replace.

I have no issues with my two Steez rods, but I always put a rod sleeve on them. I think they did it for the looks. The Xtreme has always diverted from their conservative roots. I believe the first gen was the first split grip and had recoils, the second gen had the black composite handle and micro guides, and the third gen keeps the composite handle and uses AGS guides. I couldn't stand the composite handle on the second gen, so I ended up selling it.

well I was looking forward to that new xtreme, but only using spinning rods and they only have 3 models in the spinning series (I already have 2 of the 6'10" mlxf elites, and I love them!) I was hoping for a 7'6" mlxf in the new xtreme but I guess Ill be getting another elite in that model.

Typical for st croix to have a limited model offering. I wish they offered more models across all the series

Well, thanks to the limited casting options and "xtreme" price, I'll be passing on these. I should thank SC for saving me some money! I'll just have to live vicariously through those with deeper pockets.
