Im interested in them as well.. I am thinking of doing the same. One that really has my eye is the 610MHRB. Seems like it would be a perfect spinnerbait rod around cover. I have no experience with them yet, but would love to hear some reviews once people get their hands on them.

I handled them while I was in Japan. They certainly have a high end, JDM look to them and they feel nice as well. jmd - that 610MHRB is exactly that, I had my eye on it as well, and it feels like an awesome target casting spinner bait/chatter bait type rod that will double as a fantastic full sized Vixen/walking bait rod. Another nice thing about new Rebellion rods is that they have Fuji SiC inserts which is very nice for a $199.99 retail rod. Pre-orders are open at The Tackle Trap on these of course!

Any insights on the blanks used for this line? Specifically interested in how they stack up against other Daiwa offerings like Kage, Tatula, or Cronos.

Rebellion rods feature HVF blanks which are more durable and offer more torque than SVF blanks than their HVF counterparts. Rebellion rods utilize X45 technology, and unlike Kage and Tatula, also feature Blading X to prevent blank twist. I hope this helps some!

I was hoping these nice looking sticks are close to Expride in terms of performance given its JDM MSRP about the same as Shimano's. but 199$ price tag here makes me wonder if Rebellion just another sub 200$ rod like Kage, Cronos, Tatula - perhaps good bang for the buck but no comparable to Expride, Orochi XX?

wish I'm wrong because I really want to have some decent sensitive Daiwa options in the 200-300 range.

One of the only Daiwa rods I have had any interest in quite some time. I will be adding one for sure.

HVF + blading x...this was the Cronos formula, and those were very lively rods. I liked them better than any of the Tatula variants released last couple of years.

Any chance you were able to handle any of the glass rods while you were over there? I throw bladed jigs a ton so of course I had to pre-order the 741HRB-G \:D/

Yes, they had everything on display, even the non-US models. I spent a LOT of time at the Daiwa rod display  I did check out the RB models, and focused mostly on the US models. If you like that style rod for bladed jigs, you'll be happy with the 741HRB-G.

If all goes as planned, we'll begin shipping all pre-orders early March...

I noticed on the Daiwa USA site that the 7'11" H casting rod has a (-SB) at the end of the model #.
My first thought was that it meant swimbait but the lure weight rating is only 3/8 - 1 1/2 oz. and its a fast action ?

I watched several Rebellion rods videos last night. One was from a Japan tackle show that showed a 6'10" H Baitcasting rod that also had the -SB at the end of the model #.
Could it mean "super balanced" ? I would like to know before I pre-order one.
