Should just have carbon instead of monocoque. Lead me to think of the Shimano grip instead of a general carbon grip. I would vote for carbon. I like the rigidity of it, looks cool and, supposed to be more sensitive.

Isn't there another current thread of the same subject? I prefer a good carbon grip above all else.

I prefer carbon then Winn if I am being honest. I like Cork over EVA. I have them all and can fish them all without really caring, but everyone is different.

High quality cork is my favorite, but I do like quality EVA as well.

I agree with the first part, carbon then Winn. Cork gets dirty.FishingwithBranden wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 2:07 amI prefer carbon then Winn if I am being honest. I like Cork over EVA. I have them all and can fish them all without really caring, but everyone is different.
As long as the rod performs well, I am not too picky.

CFX carbon grips for sure. Absolute amazing material. Most sensitive, most light, durable and very good looking.

I prefer comfort over looks or anything else, so I love some Winn grips or EVA. Cork deteriorates to quickly for me and starts looking terrible in no time. Would like to try Carbon on my next build, but doesn’t look comfortable at all. Be nice to at least hold a rod with this grip material before building, but haven’t seen anything available.

Cork or foam.
Don’t care for anything Winn grip.
I have a custom being finished with carbon handle grips. They look nice but I can comment on how much I like or dislike them yet

Re: What rod handle material do you prefer?
I prefer full cork on casting rods, don't mine the split cork on spinning rods. That said it doesn't stop me from buying a rod if everything else is what I want.

Without a doubt, Syncork. Picked up an Elliott Rod last year, have several custom ice rods with Syncork handles. Great handle material.
GRe grip, feel, lightweight, can be sanded rough to smooth. Love this stuff.

They are nice, but I prefer the look and feel of the Batson carbon grips.IlliniDawg01 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 2:02 pmYep. I've started rebuilding older rods with them. They just look and feel "right" to me.
