Dobyns rods 40% off on Sportsmans Outfitters

Same here. My first rod (that I got a shipment notice for) arrived today. Looks like I was indeed shipped straight from Dobyns. Never got a shipment confirmation for rod #2, but based on the email I’m hoping it’s already on the way.

Still no word on my second rod, left a voicemail with customer support today requesting a status update. I don't mind waiting cause it's such a good deal, I'd just like to know when to expect the rod so that I have clear expectations, instead of hoping all day, every day, that it'll arrive out of nowhere

My DX741SF should arrive tomorrow but received email from Sportsmans Outfitters that the DX742SF is out of stock. Gave me option to choose another DX rod but also included a list that Dobyns was out of as well. Ended up with refund on 2nd rod.

Gary posted that they were out of long rod tubes which they just received yesterday. Unfortunately for me, I ordered and 807sb so probably why my order has taken awhile. Hoping to receive rod soon and make a few casts before all water ways are closed in California.

Hah, that tube/rod picture I posted above is from a 807sb. Sorry for stealing your tube The rod I'm still waiting on is a 754. Wondering if that length requires a long tube or not.

Dobyn's is behind on shipping due to the large amount of Dobyn's rods that were sold over the promotion and the precautions they are having to take now in the warehouse due to the Coronavirus issue. Really liking my 754, need to write a post on it. TL;DR: super balanced, looks nice, great sensitivity (As good as an NRX? I don't know or care, but I can feel the vibration of a jig scraping down a rock, so that's good enough.)

I have not been able to detect a heartbeat, but I have been able to detect when fish burp. In my expert experience: an NRX lets you detect whether the fish burped because of beer or soda, while all other high-end rods only allow you to detect whether the fish burped in the first place.
