Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Didn’t mean to go off topic on this thread. Meant to PM, and didn’t see a delete option once posted.
Back to the OP, I agree with the opinion that a new guide train would be a good change. Blank “improvements” could be good or bad, we will have to wait and see about that.

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Man, I don't know what all the complaints are about, I run braid on all my NRX rods and never hear the braid making any noise.
Maybe stop buying cheap 4 carrier braid???
I personally like the recoil guides, they are super light and sensitive, I also love the blue color wraps.
With that said I would take a NRX full cork with torzite guide

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
If they’re using recoils again it would probably be for sensitivity reasons. People complained too much about the conquests being not as sensitive as the NRX even though the conquests are superior rods in nearly every way. Only thing lacking from the conquest series were some JWR tapers in my opinion. I still fish my conquests here and there, but my NRX’s ride the pine due to poor balance. If they improve the balance on it even using the same blank, with clean wraps, and a full handle grip they will be great and I’d buy a few. I will let others be the judge before I make the leap.
Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
I would go for better balance, torzites, and a full carbon fiber grip. It is 2020 after all.
Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Or having exposed seat threads. Or having basic seat. Or having an basic foregrip with no effort to incorporate the hood and foregrip into something attractive and high end. Or make rods that balance well. Or doing any inlays or carbon wrap work. Or any anodized winding checks anywhere on the rod. Or a an attractive butt cap. Or any attractive paint colors or finishes. I could go on and on.
The rods are low effort. Low energy. Jeb Bush the rod line.

Now that I think about it and look at all their product lines I think they are doing it on purpose. No one could be that incompetent repeatedly. There must be a market for rods that look 25 years old. Maybe they are more like the Harley-Davidson of fishing rods.
Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
If Loomis is going to go classic/traditional/outdated or whatever you want to call the style, at least put a decent Fuji seat on there. I would own many GLX rods if they had an ECS or something similar.
New NRX is also probably going to cost $700 for some reason.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
I know. I'm curious as to how they do in sales based on age demographic compared to other rod companies. I wonder if they are like Harley and have an older demographic as their primary buyers? Do they risk going belly up once the baby boomers are no longer buying rods or do they appeal to a wide enough age group that they can survive if not thrive? I guess time will tell.JBcrankaddict wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 8:13 amThey sure sell well despite your opinionLowRange wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 7:51 amNow that I think about it and look at all their product lines I think they are doing it on purpose. Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
I would like to see the balance better , the 894 I had was so tip heavy , I couldn’t get use to it . I actually Love the color of the blue guides and don’t mind standard guides mixed in with recoils .NRX IS Hands down most sensitive rod I own .

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
One thing that I do like about nrx is the style. I have Valkyrie rods with a skull on the butt cap, poison adrena, xtreme, and all the crazy new style rods and honestly. I prefer the simplistic look and I'm in my 30's
