Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

Post by shimanogloomis man »

I don’t have much info but I’m watching MLF there down in Florida , pros at the end of the day we’re going over bait and tackle so David Walker has a prototype new NRX , all I can say it’s full cork the model he had im assuming there all going to be . Rod wraps looked like a nice dark grey. It seemed like only the first on or two others looked color of blanks . He only showed it maybe for 20 seconds lol but hopefully they come out soon \:D/ \:D/ :big grin:

Finally.
Now I will have to wait no more.
I've held off buying any nrx because of the ugly blue wrappings.
Depending on how they look, my bank account might be hurting.

I was just thinking about switching rods to all JDM too lol. I really enjoy the conquest and NRX lineups but those recoil guides were absolutely terrible. Great sensitivity with mono or fluoro but the worst for dishing braid. I don’t want my high end rod sounding like I’m sawing through the guides. Hopefully this rod changes my view on Loomis. Love the warranty.

I hate them to, so I just swap them out. If you don’t feel comfortable, find a local builder. Builders around here charge $60 to swap Recoils to SIC.

I hope they make it look like a $500 stick and not a $100 stick from 1993.

Does that take the rod out of warranty? I wasn’t sure if it did or not so I kept them stock.

NRX was totally due for a revamp. Not a big fan of the guides/wraps/ or how they epoxy their sticks. Kind of a love hate relationship with this series. Great blank but out of probably 8 I've owned I only have one left that had nice craftmanship. Fish don't care one way or the other but is my NRX supposed to have a spiral wrap from the factory :crying:

I can't confirm either way but if drilling a hole in the butt to add a small weight does, then this would too, IMO.
