GLX 802C JWR 1/8oz? BFS?

Can someone who owns this rod tell me how well it handles the lower rating of 1/8oz? I need it to load and cast extremely well. I want to use it as a BFS rod for jig and worm but also 1/8oz jerks. Real BFS rods seem hard to find, To many people using L and UL trout rods with BFS reels and calling them BFS. I'm not looking for a trout rod. I picked up a Sensilite but I'm sure my OCD will have me upgrading within the year.

1/8oz total weight ? No it won't load well, more for small soft plastics plus 1/8 ounce weight. It can throw jerks close to 1/4 oz but I wouldn't think this is the rod you want to pick out for treble hook baits.

The 802 is a medium powered rod, does ok with 1/8oz total weight but its not ideal. You would need to force your casts since it doesn't load well at that weight. Meaning it will get them out there but accuracy will suffer.
I have trout casting rods and bfs rods, they are completely different in taper and power. My trout rods are built off UL spinning blanks with a moderate taper. Powerful hooksets are impossible so I only use them with tiny thin wire hooks in clear water. Small spinners, crankbaits and a trout magnet or crappie jig is all I use on them.
True bfs rods have much more power than the trout blanks and would do much better with 1/8oz weight and have enough power to get good hooksets. I have used UL-ML BFS blanks and for what you are looking for I'd say a L or ML is what you would want for 1/8oz jerkbaits, jigs, ned rigs and so on. Many JDM rods would fit the bill, I've used the jackson super trickster 6'4" light, megabass hyuga 6'4'L, daiwa chronos 6'5", major craft days 6'5" ML with 1/8oz total weight. These all load well with 1/8 but have decent power to get a hookset. For USDM rods the edge inshore 662 light powered rod was my favorite 3" senko rod and it handled 1/8oz jerkbaits as well.

You would be better off with a 2 power MBR Loomis rod. 6'6" or 7', choose your length.
They load much more easily with lighter weights.

I wouldn’t go with the 802 the extra length is a plus trying to cast smaller lures. I’ve used the NRX 852C JWR and it works extremely well for tossing duo rozante 63sp, ned rigs with 1/10oz heads.

Thank you for the reply, Yes I'm trying to hunt down a true BFS bass rod. I was hoping I could find a loomis to do the job bt it looks like I need to wait for them to catch up with new Technics. Looks like Daiwa has a new Blazon I may want to get my hands on.

The blazon appears to be similar to the cronos 6'5" Light powered rod I had. If that's the case it has great power for a light stick and was great with 1/8oz lures.

I have thought about getting a NRX802C for T Rigs with a Zoom Finnesse worm and a 1/8oz bullet weight. I would also use it for 5/32oz Keitech Finnesse Jigs and my reel would be a 16 Aldebaran BFS XG.

I bought one and its perfect for that and 1/8 oz jigs, neds, i enjoy throwing 2.8 keitech with 1/8 oz head. I have the alde mgl 30 hg on mine with 8lb fc

1/8oz plus plastic is the deal with the 802C. Old school SBR811 would be promising but far from NRX,GLX. Still not sure it would do it but would get you closer for sure.
