Shimano Cumara Reaction Rods
Shimano Cumara Reaction Rods
I only have one of these rods left
Why did they stop making them? Even when they came out with the red blanks they still didn’t have a reaction series that I know of. Anyone else miss the cumara reaction series?
Anyone have any they don’t use?

I have pretty much the whole series sitting in my rod rack. Still use the 7’ M, MH and H cranking rods on a regular basis.

Re: Shimano Cumara Reaction Rods
I have 7'6" Med light not a fan really.
Re: Shimano Cumara Reaction Rods
I still have and use them.
My favorite is the 7' med and 7 mh.
They are awesome crankbait rods.
My only gripe was the handles were too short. I fixed that by extending the butt another 1.5" to 2".

agree on the 7'6 med light i wanted to like it but it was very soft i lost quite a few big smallmouth on that rod because it couldn't get a good hook in them even with crankbaits

Agree on the 7’6”, should have made it a 7’ ML and a 7’6” MH.
Also really like the 6’9” MH/XF spinnerbait rod. Mainly use 843’s now, but it has caught a lot of fish and has a great action, definitely not XF.
7’ H/MF is my favorite from the series though. Felt like a fast action rod until you hook up and then the flex shows up. Could fish so many things with this rod. I mainly frog with it now.

I still have 4 in my line up.
6'8" dropshot
2X 6'8" med
6'8 med hvy
Still one of my favorite spinning rods. I did wish they made more lengths when they were still in production. I found the 7'2" models somewhat tip heavy.

I had a guy who had them for cheap but I haven’t heard from him in some time now

Re: Shimano Cumara Reaction Rods
I was wondering where you were going with this thread. Not much talk about older rods on here(especially compared to old reels), and it brought back some good memories. Hopefully you are able to find them, those rods were hard to beat for performance for the price. Bought most of mine at $100 when they cleared them out and have found no reason to get rid of them.goldrod wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 5:45 amThanksJBcrankaddict wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:16 amAgree on the 7’6”, should have made it a 7’ ML and a 7’6” MH.
