Gloomis GLX 842 or the Megabass Addermine would be my two choices.

I am the original poster and unfortunately I'm afraid you may have helped me too much...because I now really want this rod after reading about it a bit lol. I'm in the market for an UL spinning rod, a 2 piece versatile bass spinning rod and a spinning rod for jerkbaits and now all I want is this Phenix casting rod. It sounds amazing and looks incredible as well. Like, I really, really want it. I'm not sure if I need it yet, though.Drakestar wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 1:18 pmThere is, it's called the Phenix K2 714C (Well, it's an inch longer, but it has that feeling of a 2.5 Loomis power with versatile taper and amazing sensitivity.) That 714 is my "other jerkbait rod", btw - but it's casting and doesn't help the original poster.

Conquest 842 is basically what you are wanting when compared to NRX 842. If the NRX was a 2 power, Conquest would be a 2.5 as it has more a little more power. Hopefully the new version is similar. Didn’t like the K2 compared to the MBR tapers since I don’t like moderate rods for jigs/plastics, but they are really good for moving baits. The MBR is much more versatile with the fast action, and can fish everything that fits in its weight range.
