I couldn't resist, and Gary had one in stock... so now I have two 761MML, a blue and a red one. Haven't been able to fish it yet, but handling it, I like it: lighter than the last one, I like the guide arrangement better (the stripper guide is higher up the blank and thus smaller, the guide before the tip top is a bit lower, which should lead to less tangles around the blank), and the rod looks very cool.

Only question I have: if you have two "The One"s, are they actually The One? :P

Does anyone have any time of the water with the 7’3MH?

Looks good! I would say if you have two of “the one” then mathematically you now have “the two”. Haha

Also, what’s the deal with the Shimano reel? C’mon man…

It's the best color match for the rod that I have right now, and it matches the Shimano Exsense I have on my blue 76MML

My 7'6" MML arrived today just in time for my club tournament tomorrow at the California Delta.

I have been Been fishing the previous SVF version since January and have been really happy with it. This version feels lighter “in hand” than the previous version. Will see if the upgraded components (Compile X graphite, new reel seat, and upgraded AGS guides, I think) result in an improvement ‘on the water’.

Fished the SVF version last week at the Delta and will be fishing the new rod tomorrow at the Delta, so it should be a good first comparison.

I've fished with it quite a bit. It was in my hands today for a few hours in fact. I threw a jig rig with a spicy beaver, a 1/2 oz tungsten Little Spotty jig, and a 1/2 oz vibrating jig, and a 1/2 oz UOZE swimmer. It can do a lot of things very well...

That Ci4 looks pretty darn good on that steez. I also have the old and new version of the 7-6 spinner. I need more time on the water to compare. Just ordered up a new Ballistic MQ for the 7-6 one. Looking forward to that reel.

Partner (boater) got sick Friday, so we did not fish the tournament.
When report back on the new rod when I do get out with it.

I did some blue/red side-by-side Fishing yesterday and my initial impressions match those that have already been posted: great rod, feels a bit stiffer and a bit more heavy duty. It doesn't have that super lively tip but still plenty of feel.

What's the warranty of these rods? The Hookup is saying 5 years, but seeing lifetime on Tacklewarehouse?
This kinda worries me, especially unproven durability of AGS guides.

The warranty tag on the previous version (EVA) states "Limited lifetime" and the current version (cork) states "Five year limited". This information is for the 76 MML rods.

There might be some doubt out there because of damage due to misuse or lack of care, but for those of us who have fished them for years and take care of our gear, there is nothing unproven about AGS guides.

The warranty is 5 years against defects in materials or craftsmanship to the original owner of the rod with verified proof of purchase new from an authorized retailer. Megabass does this (3 years pro-rated after year one), and I understand some other brands have gone to a 1 year warranty, or a serial number verification process for their warranty.

I'm glad to see the shift away from "lifetime" warranties on fishing rods across the board. It causes too many problems and unreal expectations. We're talking about a fishing rod here, not a hammer
