NRX + 821 Ned Rig

Post by johnmyers » Thu Feb 24, 2022 5:32 am

Like the title says has anyone used one of these yet and how do you like it. I am thinking real strong about getting one. I handled one yesterday at the Indy sport show and it is pretty sweet.
Thanks
John

I have one and have used it for spring creek trout. It's a good all around light finesse rod.

I ended up getting NRX + 822 shakey head rod. Been trying different things with it in my pond before it goes in Ranger and I am finding it works fine with Z Man 1/15 oz shroom head and Z Man Ned worm just fine. Glad I ended up going this way because it can go heavier if needed and it also works pretty well with Lucky Craft 78 pointer. Also finding that my NRX 822 dsr works great with a 65 pointer 2 bass last evening and pond still has a little ice on it

Just bought the 821 sight unseen. Waiting on it to arrive. Was there a noticeable difference between it and the 822 DSR? I am looking for something that will double as an option for crappie as well.

The 822 syr has a little more power and a faster action than the 822 dsr even though they both are rated the same. The 822 dsr works pretty nice for smaller jerkbaits and crankbaits for me

With 822 dsr the first day ice was off my pond I used it with Lucky Craft Pointer 65 to catch 2 bass 16” and it worked great, first time used for this and it will now be my light and medium jerk bait rod
