New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
I can understand the Adrena line being more limited but Shimano is going to sell a LOT of Exprides, and a 7'6 spinning rod is sort of specialized that you would expect them offered in the mid-high tier line rather than the zodias/curado lines. Curado has a 7'6 L and Zodias has 2 7'6 spinners.
The other odd thing is no true BFS offerings in the Expride line at all - the 7'2ML "BFS" is more like a medium rod with a soft tip - perfect as a longer 110 rod but not something I would pair with a Curado BFS at all.
I'm hoping Shimano would add at least a 7'6ML/M type of spinning rod to the Expride line - they will definitely sell, and would compete with Daiwa's myriad 7'6 offerings from Tatula up to Steez AGS.

There is the real Shimano and then there is the Shimano they let the Americans see. Real Shimano has BFS Exprides.

Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
I meant for USDM, and maybe a longer BFS like the 6'7 they offer in the adrena line, again JDM only.
The prev gen Expride didn't have a 7'6 spinner either, yet they had an 8'6ML 2pc that was discontinued later in the run.
Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
JDM models are already available. I have the new 166XH-SB short swimbait stick and love it! Amazing quality for the $$
Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
What's the casting range on that rod? I have been looking at the various 6'6" JDM swimbait rods for a while now but have never found much info in english about them.
Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
FWIW the new 610ML Expride B spinner loads up exactly the same as the prev gen model. I'm glad they didn't change the taper on that blank.
Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
Rated to 5oz max lure weight. Rod has a nice action to it IMO. Loads up well under a 5 lbs bass. I have thrown everything from 1/2oz -1oz jigs to 4oz glide baits. It’s my tactical big bait/jungle battle rod! Hahaha
In Swimbait Underground Member reviews there is a write up for short swimbait rods where I recently posted pics and bend profile.
Re: New Expride - no 7'6 or BFS models
If you like 7'6 rods, maybe try looking into keitech custom rods? I just recently bought the 7'6 ML and its a amazing rod. Im thinking of buying the other model down the road.reason162 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 8:54 amI can understand the Adrena line being more limited but Shimano is going to sell a LOT of Exprides, and a 7'6 spinning rod is sort of specialized that you would expect them offered in the mid-high tier line rather than the zodias/curado lines.
