Thanks for the feedback. How is the regular taper of the Heartland? Is it wimpy?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 10:31 amI have three production rods I feel very comfortable throwing these on -

Nah, but it's not super stout either. Definitely JDM taper with some solid reserve power. One of the more versatile rods I've owned for sure.fishonsc wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 9:34 amThanks for the feedback. How is the regular taper of the Heartland? For me, it's either my Windbuster or Steez Utility Player. I'll choose based on where I'm throwing the swimbait.

Re: Paddletail swimbait
for lighter swimbaits (up to half ounce) I use an old 6'8" shimano crucial medium fast action.
works perfectly for those needs. I've used many of my more expensive rods but find myself picking up that rod more than any other. I use a Curado Bantam Super Free that is 20 years old. Still rock solid (helps that it had a super tune from Ian about a decade ago).

My favorite paddle tail rod is definitely the original black Cumara spinning in the 7’6” medium model. I wish I could find a backup for this rod but it seems to be a less common model.

I also second this, one of my favorite rods, also sad that not much rods are similar to this rod nowadays.slime king wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 6:36 amMy favorite paddle tail rod is definitely the original black Cumara spinning in the 7’6” medium model.
