Challenge: Pick 4 NRX Spinning Rods (if you could only carry 4)
If you had to carry 4 spinning rods (along with your other casting rods) and they had to be NRX, what would be your top 4 NRX spinning rods? Just curious what would everyone pick to carry with them for a day of fishing. And what techniques would you be using them for?
For me I think it would be: 872S (ned rig), 852S (shakey head), 822 DSR, and 803S (senko/neko).

I would carry the 842S and call it a day. For me it combines 852 and 822 duties and is the most versatile in the line up.

Thanks and yes I've heard it's a great rod! I know alot of these rods could be used for all techniques mentioned...that's not a question. But alot of people like to have rods for certain techniques and have them already setup for when they get on the water. So I was just asking, IF you carried 4 rods, what would they be...Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 12:06 pmI would carry the 842S and call it a day. I’d go with 3 872 and a 822 dsr.

802s (open water senkos and jerk baits as well as poppers)
803s (semi open water senkos and medium running crank baits)
804s (thick vegetation senkos, deep cranks, 3/4 ounce spinner baits)
I own the above three and never leave shore without them.
If I had to pick a fourth I'd probably go with a 901s. (I don't own this, but I can think of many uses, mainly smallies).

It’s the best rod Loomis makes. It can do everything from drop shotting in weeds to Neko rigs.clemsondds wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 5:26 pmIs the 872 that good? I’ve never used it. What’s your favorite techniques to use it for?

Cool. Does it do ned rigs better than the 821 nrr?HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:14 pmIt’s the best rod Loomis makes. 1/4 oz and up it does. I don’t fish a ton of ned rigs under 1/4 oz. I have a 821 and I use it mainly for walleye fishing and creek fishing smallmouth.clemsondds wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:17 pmCool. I played around with a few of the inshore models today at a fishing show and I would give serious thought in replacing the DSR with a 841 inshore model.
