I haven't seen anything yet, but sounds intriguing. The carbon mq butt grip section has me intrigued, is this Daiwa's take on the carbon monocoque handle Shimano has been utilizing?
Re: New Zillion Rods
Hmmmm...will the Zillion slot in between the Tatula and Steez?

Website I found it on has it removed now--but LBF has them up on their website--only showing the spinning model.

Re: New Zillion Rods
Daiwa missing the mark again for me...boring, expride copy, no JDM flair. It couldn't be more bland and uninspired.
With all the amazing real seats Daiwa has that one looks incredibly uncomfortable. Might as well use an ACS.
Bummed as I have both the previous models.

Re: New Zillion Rods
Why would I spend $300 on this when i can get a JDM steez for that price? This thing is horrible aesthetically. I belive it is just a half assed attempt at capitilizing off the popularity of the zillion name.
Re: New Zillion Rods
They look pretty slick. I bet they will be great rods.

Having a valid warranty and getting some AGS actions and blank for $200 less than a Steez will work for a lot of people. I own three Steez sticks but if I can get the power pitch without AGS guides I’m all in.Firstoutfisher wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 12:07 pmWhy would I spend $300 on this when i can get a JDM steez for that price? I understand the jdm discount but for 90% of the masses they want what they can buy at Tackle Warehouse or their local shop. We’re enthusiasts and we’ll go further than most to chase gear.
Re: New Zillion Rods
Shimano is the Michael Jordan of fishing rod styling, and everyone wants to 'be like Mike'. Heck even Sedition copied the Monoque.
Re: New Zillion Rods
This is how I feel about these rods--for the same price you could pick up a JDM rod, but if you're getting a Steez blank without AGS guides--sign me up.TNBankFishing wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 5:58 amHaving a valid warranty and getting some AGS actions and blank for $200 less than a Steez will work for a lot of people.
