They also have realized they cost less for productions and make them look more expensive.
New Zillion Rods
Re: New Zillion Rods
I'm surprised no megabass fans cried foul about my Shimano comment. I think Airrus invented the monocoque handle with the pulse R rod. Anyway...if this rod is indeed a steez without ags guides, it will probably outperform the expride.
Re: New Zillion Rods
Is that a foam ring on the butt end?
Overall weirdly proportioned look to it, especially that bulky locknut assembly. Pass.

Re: New Zillion Rods
It seems a lot of companies are hitting an innovation wall with blank material. NRX made a splash 10yrs ago only to add a "+" 10yrs later with little to no improvement to their blanks. Daiwa might be facing similar issues.
Re: New Zillion Rods
What's wrong with their blank material? Because they don't slap on toray 40 something 1100 this and that in descriptions, that makes it there's been no innovation or no improvement?
Re: New Zillion Rods
Btw this new zillion rods might be cool and stuff but don't see much that separates them from new tatula elite/ags rods.

Re: New Zillion Rods
I think in the eyes of the casuals they come off as almost the same minus the MQ handle? I don't know? What do you think? Or are you just sad because no one has posted pic of balance point for you yet?

Re: New Zillion Rods
I'm happy to see a new Zillion rod series. A few of these rods are particularly exciting for me and I'm excited to fish them - for some reason that 68MFL spinning rod has me intrigued as a fan of jerk bait fishing with shorter spinning rods. Anybody who happens to be coming to the Classic this year, stop by and say hello. I'll be there with almost all of the new Zillion rods and you can actually put them in your hands

Re: New Zillion Rods
The rod in the pic was a 7'3MH. Overall it felt very compact and comfortable like the Air reel seat. Best in the business imo. Maybe they were able to keep the handle more compact with its new design with heavier powered rods. . But i agree it does look unporportion in the pics but in hands i didnt really notice it. The end cap if I can recall was a foam piece. 1st impression was like dam... it feels light like the Steez rods. The one I held had no AGS guides. BTW the Daiwa guys had a new Tatula elite spinning out to that felt so good in hands.

Re: New Zillion Rods
I agree that air sensor seat is tops - and the hook keeper looks perfect as well.
