I really like how they look and the major upgrade on the reel seat for the spinning models.

There are a few glx rods I like over my NRX+ rods.

You can have a custom built for a fraction of the cost to mimic the look and components
true but it won't be a Loomis blank.
NFC X-ray, C602 Carbon Air, Point Blank, K2...plenty of options out there that would match and even surpass GLX and NRX.

They look nice. It's not cutting edge or modern in looks but it looks nice for a Loomis rod. I like it better than the last gen. That one always struck me as someone timidly trying to make it look modern but didn't try hard enough like "let's put some carbon fiber accents on it WHOA WHOA just one little one in the middle of the rear grip let's not go overboard"

I held them in a store and they feel incredible. I personally love the look of them in person. Can’t really discern the difference between them and a NRX in terms of weight. The new actions are pretty awesome to see. When I saw the price I thought it was outrageous for a GLX but they definitely feel on par with P5 destroyer or Steez completely different rod from before.

I've always liked the GLX. I like the blue version. I think the cork grips are great. The new one looks like a winner too. The P5 grips are not for me. Wish the glx had a longer foregrip but a elegant design I think. Some guys like the rod to look like piece of art and others don't. I'm in the camp of less bling.

How much did these go up in price relative to the previous generation?

I was curious about this as well. I thought it was a straight $100 across the board when I saw the price on these. Though, Loomis had their price increase a couple years back and I can't recall what I paid for my past gen GLXs several years back, $425 for an 844c? A little digging yielded the past gen 855c and 895c for $495 and $505, respectively, via ALF. Now both those rods are $550 in this refreshed line.

Up here in Canada, the Loomis pricing goes like this:

GCX $350

IMX Pro $530

GLX $775

NRX+ $899

Conquest $1079

I have two IMX Pro rods and love them but I will never be able to step up to the next level unless I win the lotto lol and even then, $500+ for a rod is a lot in a place where our cost of living is through the roof...

As an owner of 5 old version GLX that I love. My favorite rods hands down. I think these new versions look incredible.
They are so clean looking, with very nice reel seats and grips.

Fondled these at the classic expo. 893 felt light AF and was balanced. It was hard to resist 30% off, but I
still owe some hospital bills from a recent surgery (I'm pretending to be responsible  )

30% off is worth trying one or two out

Oh I know...it was painful to not be able to buy at the expo. Just had surgery and I paid up vs carrying the debt. Deals everywhere. Held my first zbone, and the guy comes over and tells me they are 50% off for the expo ($250). I was like ](*,) :crying:
