GCX $350
IMX Pro $530
GLX $775
NRX+ $899
Conquest $1079
I have two IMX Pro rods and love them but I will never be able to step up to the next level unless I win the lotto lol and even then, $500+ for a rod is a lot in a place where our cost of living is through the roof...

Re: New GLX
Had you thinking loomis was charging evergreen international official import prices. $1200 on tackle warehouse for that dire wolf…….
Re: New GLX
funny you say that because just the other day, i was saying to myself, surely people know better than to spend $1200 on a rod that they can get directly from japan for almost half the price but maybe the assurance of warranty is worth it.HellaBread wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 6:49 amHad you thinking loomis was charging evergreen international official import prices. $1200 on tackle warehouse for that dire wolf…….
Re: New GLX
Loomis has a captive audience of 55+ that will pay full retail no questions asked on Tackle Warehouse or their local shop like Hank Hill buying a car.

Yep...that's why Shimano purchased them. I guess they wanted Gary's secret resin blend as well.LowRange wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 1:19 pmLoomis has a captive audience of 55+ that will pay full retail no questions asked on Tackle Warehouse or their local shop like Hank Hill buying a car.

Re: New GLX
I played around with the 891s, 841s, and 863s today at a tackle shop. The grip on the spinning rods is smaller than I thought. I have big hands and my index finger would likely be on the blank with a reel stem between my index and middle finger. The rods are super light and blanks are crisp.
The 891s would be a good ned rig rod in shallow, clear water conditions where you need to bomb casts to not spook fish. Soft tip but the rod is extra fast and gets into the backbone much faster than a 901 or 902 NRX.
There was really no discernible difference between the 841 and the 842 NRX that I have. It might work better if you were using 1/8 oz total weight baits.
The gem was the 863. This rod is going to be stellar for dropshotting large mouth on milfoil weed lines and deep water smallmouth. Super soft tip that transitions to medium heavy backbone. The tip is a full power lighter than a 872 NRX. I will be getting this rod.

Re: New GLX
I would guess this rod was designed for cracking tubes for great lakes smallmouth. I’m sure it would be able to pull double duty with senkos.Gone Phishin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:24 pmHas anyone held this stick yet? Thinking 4" and 5" weightless senkos, t-rigged.
