BPS has started putting up next year's reels on their site

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Always made decent reels now they are changing the game with a 5.9oz $130 reel. Owned the Signature and Elite about 5 years ago and a few 05ha extremes. We will have to see hope TT does a review it's been awhile since they did a private brand review.

It looks like a cross between a Lews Speed Spool and a Revo MGX. I wonder what it is made out of? The description says one piece aircraft grade...Aircraft grade what? I'm guessing graphite but I could be wrong but a 5.9oz reel that is aluminum without massive porting at 130 bucks might be worth grabbing 2 or 3!

EDIT: It is aluminum, at least the frame is and the side plates are a fused composite, probably graphite and or magnesium. I don't really care for graphite but the Lews Tourney pro has side plates that are really nice and very hard to tell they are graphite so thisd might be the same. I'd like to see a review, I saw the Roland Martin statement but lately he has just been a product pimp so I take anythnig he says with a grain of salt.

i will probably end up with a couple of the 7:1 and a 5:1. i have 1 of the gold cl's and 3 of the pqt's and really like them. they have held up well.

btw i kinda think the gold cl is ugly also, but it sure looks nice on a steez flexlite! :D

Looks way better than the fugly gold reels. Go get 'em BPS.

This may be just what my Carbonlite rod needs.

I will pick one or more up unless there's a ton of negative reviews about it, which I doubt since it has to be based off the whole Pure/Lews line of reels. And if they put them on sale for $100 like they did quite often with the CLs last year, they'll be an even bigger steal. Might have to get a 5.x for light cranking & a 7.x or two for various things.

I might have to pick up one of these. Let the light-weight reel wars begin! Anybody have an idea when this reel might actually be available for purchase?

The Gold Carbonlite is on sale $89.99, I would think that they have a few of them to seel off before the new one goes on sale. It should be out when they do there fishing show in March.

BPS, Cabelas and some other "private labels"...have never actually "made" any reels, rods, lures or line, etc. But yeah, looks like a game changer in this price range for sure.
