Core100mgfv and Cumara

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Core100mgfv and Cumara

Post by ss go devil » Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:53 am

Finally broke down and bought a Cumara for the core. Glad I did. This pairing seems like they were made for each other. In the past 2 days it's pulled frogging duty and then the next I was hucking small swimbaits and crushing magnum spots. Highly recommend this pairing.

7'2 mh xf. Got this one for multiple techniques. It will pull frog duty, pitching craws and swim baits less than 1 oz. Do you think this was a good pic?

Souns like a great combo! Love the core 100mgFV. One of my favourites.

The cumara feels like a great rod in hand. May pick that model up for all purpose fishing

That is the perfect model. I love the extra fast tapers of these cumaras versus the fast ones. My 6'8" mh xf can handle everything including 1 ounce lures without a problem. The extra fast tip will be able to handle much more than the rating implies on the rod. I tried the same lure on the 6'8" mh fast action and it can't handle that much weight. The 7'2" mh xf model should be a perfect fit for that core 100mgfv. Great buy.

It's the 3rd in my arsenal now. Dropshot, shakey head and now this one. I'm happy with the performance thus far. The core has been a pitching only reel before this, didn't know how smooth this reel could cast. It's amazing on distance.

I have this same setup except I have a Core 50 on this rod. This combo will throw a senko a mile. I also love it for shallow crank baits. Probably the most versatile rod I own.

I have my Core on a mossyback 852 and it feels great.. I just got a Steez and a NRX 803 to pair it with, I will feel like I am cheating on my core since it only gets a mossyback and the steez gets the NRX~~
