REVO shop question

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

REVO shop question

Post by dcorp » Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:54 pm

Does anyone know if you can put the new Carbon bent handles on Gen2 revos without bent star drags (like a winch)? And if you can't, is there a place to buy bent star drags for revos?

Checking out my STX, if the drag star was straight, it would hit my handle.

Here are schematics here where you can order the part.

Schematics from Abu Garcia to verify. It's #70 for an STX that I have. Not sure what model you have.

if you're brave, you can use a set of pliers and bend the arms of the star drag back to clear the handle...that's what i did on my daiwa sol when i put a swept handle from a zillion on it. the drag star on the 2G winch looks like it would bend easily.

I hear that using a snug fitting socket would do the trick. Just don't put to
Much muscle I to it.

Any of the Bass Pro reels with a clicking swept star will go right on a Gen 2 Revo. Those parts are a little cheaper cost-wise, too.
