Lexa 100 vs curado 200 D

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Lexa 100 vs curado 200 D

Post by Shim_Dai_Ano_Wa » Fri Jan 11, 2013 12:57 pm

Yes

You read right.

Lexa 100 vs curado 200 D as in Dog.

The lexa is made out of aluminum the curados after the d are graphite, unless I'm incorrect.

Opinions?

Hm I think the curado 200 D has only a graphite side plate on the centrifugal break side, the handle side is def. aluminum.
But I am not sure, 'cause I sold my 200dhsv long time ago.

you must be talking about the sideplates as the frames for both are aluminum. the sideplates on the curado E's were graphite. the lexa 100's gearside sideplate is aluminum, the other side isn't.

I'm sorry I meant they both are made out of aluminum that's why the comparison.

Was the curado d all aluminum or was one side graphite?

Isn't the curado e all graphite?

Way to early to have a final verdict on the Lexa...if it can prove to be as good a reel as the CU D 200 series, then it will be a huge accomplishment for Daiwa.

Especially at the current Lexa pricing in year 2012 and moving forward.

If that's the case daiwas a winner over the curado e.

Curado d wins because its aluminum but looses on size.

I give my prediction on the shoot out. Daiwa lexa wins over curado d and curado e

The Curado E is a fantastic reel. I bought two when they first came out and they are still performing like new. I haven't had the chance to fish the Lexa yet but it casts very nice and the retrive is very smooth. I'll see how it does in a few weeks, I'm heading to Florida for a month fish with the father in-law.

The Lexa 100 and 300 are the bomb and for less then $150 the 100 series is crazy value, probably the best in it's class. Just picked up a 300HS and LOOOOOVVVVE it, got it for $195 Delivered too, SOO HAPPY

Sometimes we anglers don't know how the manufacture companies think. See and like:

No pinion bearing??? =D>
Image
IAR is mostly plastic 2. I don't know how long this parts will last...
For me, the material of the inside parts of the reel are the most important . \:D/

As a guy who fishes a lot of salt water, having a plastic bushing for the pinion gear is not neccessarily a bad thing. For me personally, the pinion bearing is the one that I have the hardest time keeping clean and free spinning :( I do wonder though if the assembly all 1 piece or can you just replace the bushing with a ball bearing?

I will check my 200 DHSV to see if the quick access side plate is graphite/plastic or aluminum?
