Your Next Reel Purchase?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Recently purchased a lew's BB1 left hand retrieve reel. 6.4:1 ratio. Will be my all purpose reel.

Tatula on pre-order from The Tackle Trap. Not the "R", just the regular flavor.

I'm uncertain at this point, but that Okuma Helios Air has somewhat stolen my attention from the Chronarch and Tatula.

That is a sweet looking reel. The carbon fiber touch looks really good.

Morrum ZX Mag 1600...

Got a few out of the way last year and this year...and was really looking forward to a Vanquish, new Antares, Exsence DC, or new Certate 2508 HS, BUT...

The JDM Morrum ZX Mag 1600 with high gear ratio has taken the lead for me. :evil22: :evil22: :evil22:

The new Morrum looks very nice too. But with a price to match.

Steez SV, Exsence DC, or the Metanium MG DC. Probably at a minimum going to try to grab the SV! The versatility of these reels appears to be incredible. As much as I enjoy my 103HA, can't wait to experience the SV capabilities. Have gotten addicted to the sweet brake sound that comes from the DC braking!!! Also, who wouldn't prefer being able to cast into the wind with their bait caster rather than either being shutdown completely or going to a spinning combo! :big grin:

An educated thumb relieves this issue...with all BCs I have ever owned and used. ;)

Yea, yea, yea ... :talk hand:

:laugh1: I know, and I'm close but prefer to not have to do without the backup protection! Call me spoiled! Especially with the kind of gusts you and I had yesterday ... Oyyyy!

Chronarch CI4+ = Shallow cranking and jerkbaits.
Helios Air waiting on user reviews looks very promising.
