What is your go to reel/reels?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Casting it's pretty much whichever reel(a Revo of some variety) has the line that's on the rod for the technique they're hitting on. My favorites would be Gen 2 Premier, Gen 3 STX, & Gen 2 Winch. I want to get a Gen 3 Winch at some point in the future.

Spinning I love my Premier 30s. Had one since they first released & it's been fantastic for me. Picked up a Patriarch to try & while it's a very nice reel, I like the Premiers better, so I sold it & picked up another.

The five reels that get the most use (by a wide margin I might add) are not my "top shelf" reels at all but my least expensive one's. Well one of them is mid tier but who's counting right. My 4 Citica E 201's get almost constant use and they're still going strong, getting the job done without fail, and just generally putting a smile on my face. The 5th reel is my Chronarch B 101, it also gets fished multiple times a week, most weeks.

It's funny to me to just sit and think of all the money I've spent on "high end" gear over the years but the gear I enjoy the most cost the least. If I only knew then what I know now I could have saved a lot of money for myself. I just never thought I'd be so content with the lower priced gear. Maybe this comes with getting a little older or maybe it comes from all the knowledge I gained by trying lots of different priced gear, who knows?

Core 50's and 100MgFV's are used every time I've bass fished in the last 2 years.

Be careful what you say. Some on this site would consider this blasphemy!

My go-to is a Scorpion 1001mg on a Recon 713. Great weightless worm combo. The only non-Dobyns I own.

:D Yeah I guess this isn't exactly the "budget minded" gear forum is it. Don't get me wrong I still absolutely love my Calais & Calcutta DC's, my Stella FD3000 along with my GLX and Cumara rods. These just aren't the combos I reach for on a daily basis. I just wait and break them out when I feel like a change. I like doing it this way to because it kinda seems like I have all new gear when I do take them out.
